Car Servicing with EuroDiesel in Chorley

Regular car servicing can help to extend the life of a vehicle, and help to find faults on the vehicle before they become a safety issue or cause the car to breakdown. It can also help to spread out the cost of keeping the vehicle in a roadworthy state.

Thanks to recent changes in European Union (Block Exemption) legislation, owners of cars under three years old can now get maximum value for money car servicing from us without invalidating the manufacturer’s warranty. We are able to offer vehicle manufacturers servicing schedules at far cheaper prices. We also offer our own service schedule for cars no longer covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. These services go into great detail without involving the high costs normally associated with this level of service.

Brakes

The braking system on a vehicle is easily one of the most important systems on your car. They are such a basic function it is easy to take them for granted until it is too late. Regular brake checks are extremely important to ensure the future safety and reliability of the vehicle.

We carry out brake checks as part of vehicle servicing programme or you can have them checked at any time by contacting us or calling in. We can carry out all repairs on braking systems from simple adjustments through to ABS faults. We also carry out brake fluid testing as part of our vehicle servicing schedule or as part of brake check. This is done by measuring the boil point of your cars brake fluid. Brake fluid over time absorbs moisture this in turn lowers the boil point of the brake fluid and under certain driving condition can result in the brakes failing.

Our Vehicle service programme will identify any problems with your brakes and provide you with a full written report as to their condition. Or you may book a separate brake inspection at any time.

Diesel Particulate Filter Refurbishment & Cleaning

What is a Diesel Particulate Filter? A Diesel Particulate Filter is a device fitted to a modern diesel vehicles exhaust system which filters particulate matter (PM) from exhaust gases.

DPF’s need to be emptied of trapped particulate matter regularly. This is done by a process called “regeneration” which involves burning the soot to gas at a very high temperature.

An underlying engine or fuel system fault, incorrect vehicle usage or lack of regeneration can cause an excessive build up of soot which subsequently affects vehicle performance and can lead to expensive repair costs. This has led to some vehicle owners removing the DPF entirely however, DPF removal has both social and legal implications.

“It is an offence under the Road vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations (Regulation61a(3) to use a vehicle which has been modified in such a way that it no longer complies with the air pollutant emission standards it was designed to meet. Removal of the DPF will almost invariably contravene these requirements making the vehicle illegal for road use”.

Diesel Diagnostics

Most of us have experienced that dreaded feeling, when the orange "engine management warning lamp” starts flashing on the Dashboard.

However, the vehicle workshop at Euro diesel are fully equipped to deal with such a problem. Using only the latest diagnostic equipment, with full technical support from the major diesel manufacturers our fully trained technicians have the experience and most importantly, underlying knowledge to diagnose diesel related faults both quickly and accurately.

Our commitment to maintaining high standards has seen the addition of a designated Common Rail Clean Room to our workshops. A separate “clean” environment is deemed essential when maintaining Common Rail fuel systems to reduce the chance of fuel system cross contamination.
All vehicle diagnostic work is carried out with the intention of keeping the customer informed of our findings at all times. On completion of the diagnostic, a quote is prepared and no remedial work carried out until full authorisation from the customer is obtained.

This is why it’s so important to make sure that your vehicle undergoes an air conditioning service and re-gas every two years.

We offer a full air conditioning service that includes refrigerant and temperature checks, a leak test and inspection of the condition of key components, including the compressor, condenser, drive belts and hoses. We will replace filters and re-gas the system with the refrigerant appropriate to your model of vehicle, either R134a or the latest R123yf refrigerant fitted to post-2012 vehicles.
